Site Safety Supervisor

About the role

At MLG Design & Construction Sdn. Bhd., we are seeking an experienced Site Safety Supervisor to join our dynamic team in Penang and Sungai Petani Kedah. As a full-time Site Safety Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance on our construction sites. Your primary focus will be to oversee and coordinate all safety-related activities, ensuring the wellbeing of our workforce and maintaining regulatory standards.

Job Description:

• Inspects and rectifies unsafe place of work and practices.
• Checks to ensure compliance with the Act and safety measures of regulations thereunder.
• Liaises with contractor’s safety supervisor with respect to safety of work undertaken by sub-contractors.
• Ensures safety procedures comply with provision of the Act and regulations.
• Raises health and safety issues to Safety & Health Officer where necessary.
• Responsible to ensure all individuals at site know about the potential safety hazard, accident and incident management and carry out HSE meeting at site.
• Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment).
• To conduct Safety briefing (Toolbox meeting) bi-weekly.
• Works closely with Safety Managers to implement safety measures from time to time.
• To ensure Environment, Health & Safety permits and documents are in place.
• Assist Project Manager to supervise daily site works and coordinate with subcontractors on job site.
• Other assigned tasks as required.

Requirements

• Must have valid Yellow Book, registered with DOSH or JKKP.
• At least 1 year of experience in the construction industry performing safety functions.
• Good communication skills, able to gain respect from co-workers.
• Ability to solve issues on the go and make recommendations on technical issues requiring expertise in the field.
