Server and Network Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated Server and Network Engineer to join our dynamic and fast-growing organization. Tune Protect is a regional insurance company with infrastructure on cloud as well as on premise. This role is to join our network and server team looking after a fleet of Windows and Linux workloads across on-premises and cloud. Experience in IT operations platform tools such as ManageEngine will give you a strong advantage. We are looking for personnel with a strong grounding in Server OS Administration and able to communicate and collaborate across the organization, from users to analysts to developers to cloud and infrastructure engineers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Configuration, Administration, Maintenance and Troubleshooting of enterprise servers for both Windows and Linux.
2. Strong Windows and Linux system administration skills a must.
3. Experience with VMWare vCenter and/or Huawei DCS.
4. Experience with IT Operations Platforms such as ManageEngine a strong plus.
5. Experience with any Cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure/Huawei/Alibaba) a strong plus.
6. Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving server hardware, OS and network issues working closely with vendors where required.
7. Monitoring server and network performance metrics to ensure SLAs are kept.
8. Forecasting server/network usage taking into account user/application projections.
9. Closing any audit issues with respect to server and network.
10. Experience in Backup Administration utilising Cohesity or Huawei a strong plus.
11. Experience in High Availability design from a server and network perspective.
12. Experience in DRC exercises from server/network and backup perspective.
13. Ensure that security best practices are followed.

Qualifications and Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology or extensive field experience in lieu.
2. Extensive hands-on experience of Windows/Linux servers administration in an enterprise environment.
3. Hands-on experience in the following:
1. Microsoft AD Administration an advantage.
2. Cohesity or Huawei Backup experience an advantage.
3. Experience utilising and configuring Solarwinds, Dynatrace an advantage.
4. Experience with security EDR tools, DLP an advantage.
5. Strong understanding of networking.
6. Secondary ability to perform network administration an advantage. Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, VPN, LAN and WAN links.
7. Huawei Switches/Routers.
8. Aruba switches/wifi.
9. Working with local WAN link providers like TMB and Time.
4. Ability to create accurate documentation including network/server diagrams and design/planning documents.
5. Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
6. Good communication skills written and spoken.
7. Good analytical and problem-solving skills including ability to visualise and plan troubleshooting steps.
8. Ability to work collaboratively with other parties towards a common goal.
