Job description
Ensure accurate preparation and timely submission of tax returns, including corporate tax, SST, withholding tax, and other applicable taxes.
Monitor compliance with Malaysian tax laws and regulations, ensuring the company meets all statutory requirements.
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provision calculations and reconciliations.
Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and authorities to address tax-related issues and queries.
Provide strategic advice on tax implications of business decisions, transactions, and restructuring plans.
Identify opportunities for tax savings and implement tax-efficient strategies to optimize the company's tax position.
Evaluate and mitigate tax risks, ensuring compliance with local tax standards.
Maintain proper documentation for all tax filings and support audits by tax authorities.
Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring all tax-related information is accurate and readily available.
Assist in enhancing existing tax workflows to improve efficiency and compliance.
Leverage technology to automate tax calculations, reporting, and filing processes.
Implement best practices to improve tax reporting and compliance processes.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure tax compliance in various business activities.
Provide guidance and training to internal teams on tax-related matters and updates on legislation changes.
Identify eligible government grants and funding opportunities, prepare applications, liaise with agencies, and ensure successful submission.
Monitor grant usage and ensure compliance with terms and reporting requirements.
Handle any ad-hoc tasks assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CTIM) is highly preferred.
Minimum 5–8 years of relevant tax experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of Malaysian tax laws, regulations, and reporting standards.
Experience in handling tax audits and dealing with regulatory authorities.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel; experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
