This position involves working as a Senior Tax Analyst primarily focusing on international direct and indirect tax.

Description

Lead the coordination and management of tax compliance tasks, including overseeing the tax calendar, preparing, reviewing/validating, and submitting Corporate Income Tax, Indirect Tax filings (VAT/GST), and Withholding Tax (WHT) for Asia legal entities within scope, ensuring accurate and timely submission in compliance with tax regulations and authorities.

Take the lead in ensuring the completion of tax computations, deferred tax calculations, tax entries, and tax reporting, collaborating with the Geo Tax and accounting teams for corporate tax reporting to HQ, statutory fiscal accounts, and overall tax compliance.

Manage and oversee financial reporting related to IFRS, Local GAAP income taxes, and indirect taxes, in alignment with corporate policies, global tax accounting policies, procedures, and practices, while working closely with Geo Tax, Corporate HQ, and the Accounting team.

Lead and coordinate with GBS streams, Treasury, Local Finance, and external tax consultants to ensure timely processing and settlement of tax payments and refunds.

Participate in tax audits, compliance audits, and internal audits, responding to audit queries, and leading/supporting GBS efforts and communication during tax audits, including preparing required documents to address queries from tax authorities.

Serve as the primary point of contact for providing input on tax setups and offering support for regional and corporate projects, including RTR transformation, tools development, integrations, corporate simplifications, RPA, and other related initiatives.

Profile

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, such as a degree, Chartered or Certified Professional Accountant designation, or equivalent (ACCA, CPA).
  • A minimum of 6-7 years of experience in an accounting role, with a strong focus on APAC taxes. Experience in the IT software industry or a multinational environment with regional exposure in a shared services function is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of APAC Local GAAP accounting and tax regulations across various APAC jurisdictions; hands-on experience with ERP systems is essential, and familiarity with ERP implementations is a significant advantage.
  • A strong process control mindset, with self-motivation, excellent analytical skills, and advanced technical taxation/accounting expertise. Attention to detail and accuracy is crucial, along with a process-driven approach.
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Mandarin as the candidate is required to serve Mandarin-speaking countries.
