JOB SUMMARY

This role involves managing and supporting the technology portfolio for Investment Front and Middle Office Solutions, ensuring alignment with business strategies and the latest technologies. Key responsibilities include maintaining system health and performance, implementing improvements to enhance stability, and delivering projects and solutions that meet user requirements. The role also focuses on analyzing business needs, enabling modernization, and adopting cloud, data analytics, AI, and ML functionalities. Collaboration with stakeholders, financial management, market research, and thorough documentation are essential. Experience with investment systems or SaaS cloud solutions is a plus.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Application Management

  • Design, development, implementation and technical support for enterprise IT applications.
  • Ensure architectural design and application development are developed in accordance with the business requirements, internal standards & controls, follow the audit process and meet technical specifications.
  • Plan and manage solutions and application efficiencies in line with changing business needs.
  • Manage application support with ITIL practices, change management, release management, troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Administers, monitors and regulates platform components of the systems, covering aspects of application related operating system components, hardware, appliances, applications, and other related components with those systems in various environments.
  • Ensure all releases have gone through CAB committee review and approvals.
  • Manage & provide support in the audit exercise by supplying the required information based on the prescribed schedule. Assess and plan for an action plan for audit findings.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments on new initiatives, system improvements and system troubleshooting.
  • Data and performance management: work with business to assess & manage the underlying data & performance for the supported applications.
  • Incident and problem management: analyse the underlying causes of an incident as well as identify the best method to eliminate that root cause.
  • Ensure the best service quality and availability are maintained, comply with the SLA agreed with business.
  • Sufficient Domain Knowledge in related fields of applications and functions e.g. products, processes, technical terms, risk, customer experience etc. to support user requirements, support reporting module and problem analysis/troubleshooting.
  • Plan, manage and execute Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Disaster Recovery (DR).
  • Manage and execute release deployment to various environments according to process and compliance.

2. Project & Change Management

  • To manage application projects & change requests from cost, timeline scope and benefit perspectives.
  • Deliver projects and capabilities using various project management methodologies – agile, SDLC.
  • Plan and manage delivery to meet milestones and timeline.
  • Financial and budget management for project CAPEX and recurring OPEX.
  • Manage projects and support resources, identify skills and competencies of the team.
  • Manage issues and risks, communicate and manage application stakeholders.
  • Manage users with requirements study & specification, incident management, testing and delivering solutions according to business requirements.
  • Study, prepare, and discuss with the internal team on Infrastructure setup, application integration, penetration & load testing, and architecture design according to requirements.
  • Analyse user needs and propose recommendations on system enhancement and report.
  • Test Management and execution: SIT and collaborate for user UAT to ensure the quality of product / solution.
  • Assist user/business to prepare Business Case, Request for Proposal (RFP)/Technical Specification and participate in tender process.
  • Study and align business requirements with matching solutions.
  • Work with internal and external teams to translate business requirements and capabilities into gaps, roadmaps and action plans/ technology requirements.

3. Supplier Management

  • Collaborate with relevant suppliers for new IT project development system troubleshooting.
  • Manage supplier delivery and quality in line with project scope, timeline and cost.
  • Assist to review and evaluate potential supplier solutions through a direct RFP/negotiation process.
  • Assist to prepare RFI, RFP and relevant documents as part of the project in good quality.
  • Evaluate and assess the solution as part of the technical committee and pricing committee for a comprehensive assessment for vendor & solution selection.
  • Vendor performance monitoring & management. Conduct regular system performance reviews and collaborate with vendors on improvement plans.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Malaysian citizen.
  • Passed the Malaysian Language (including passing the Oral Test) at the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia level or a qualification recognized as equivalent by the government.
  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree with honors in Information Technology from a local or overseas higher learning institution.
  • At least 8 years of experience in application development and support.
  • Experience in banking industry or financial / Investment domain is an added advantage.
  • Experience supporting Investment Front Office & Middle Office systems for Equity, Fixed Income & other asset classes, e.g. :
  • Front Office – Order/Execution Management system, Portfolio Management system
  • Middle Office – Risk/Compliance system, Trade Processing system
  • Preferred experience with Charles River Development (CRD) & eFront system
  • Strong business analysis, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Detail-oriented team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to reach a shared goal.
  • Effective communication (verbal and written) in a professional manner with technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities and ability to perform under pressure to meet tight datelines.
  • Able to work outside office hours when required.
  • Experience in Integrating applications with enterprise backend systems, databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle), programming languages (VB.NET, ASP.NET, Java, PowerShell, and others).
