Senior Staff Engineer Product Validation

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Technical Support Engineer to provide technical expertise for the Technical Marketing team in Villach. This role involves validating product value propositions, benchmarking Infineon components against competitors, and supporting the development of new technologies in various applications such as motor drives, battery protection, and power conversion.

Job Description

In your new role you will:

1. Act as the main technical support for Technical Marketing team in Villach to validate products value proposition in customer systems during development projects
2. Be the local spokes man to PL management.
3. Measure Infineon components as well as competitor benchmarking, in motor drives, battery protection and DCDC Power Conversion Applications, DCDC Buck Converters, Brick Converters for Telecom, SMPS for Servers/Telecom and Adapters
4. Drive tests of leading-edge devices on specially designed boards to support the development and optimization of new technologies
5. Assist Technical Marketing team in writing Application notes, layout-& board design
6. Provide guidance for your local peers, in technical and personal development
7. Be locally responsible to organize and analyze data and generate test reports
8. Contribute to peer reviews of internal development documents
9. Create new application test setups (e.g. design of application testboard) including test automation
10. Interface with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues requiring in depth product knowledge
11. Actively engages with Technical Marketing team to explore new technology, best in cost design, etc. to achieve competitive advantages.
12. Support your peers with your knowledge and hands on experience
    
    

Your Profile

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

1. A degree from a university / university of applied sciences in Electrical Engineering or comparable
2. 5+ years proven hands on work experience in electrical engineering laboratory environment, including using lab equipment
3. Profound knowledge of semiconductors, especially Power MOSFETs preferable.
4. Experience in analysis of measurement data and presentation of results for internal and external stakeholders
5. Capability to work independently and provide guidance and technical training for teammates
6. Programming skills in C, C++, Visual Studio, Matlab
7. PCB Design (Allegro, Altium Designer) and the ability to review existing layouts
8. Profound MS Office skills
