Job Summary
Overall responsible for corporate income tax, indirect tax, e-Invoicing compliance, and tax-related financial reporting.
Job Responsibilities
Corporate Income Tax Compliance:
- Gather accounting and tax data for the preparation of the annual income tax returns and computation for statutory tax filing purposes.
- Liaise with tax agents to ensure the tax treatment adopted is compliant with prevailing rules and regulations.
- Preparation of provisional tax computation and furnishing tax estimates to the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM).
- Manage tax audits.
Indirect Tax Compliance:
- Gather accounting and tax data for the preparation and submission of bi-monthly tax returns.
- Manage indirect tax audits.
Withholding Tax Compliance:
- Provide advice on withholding tax implications on the payments to foreign providers.
- Preparation of withholding tax computations and remittance document for submission to the IRBM.
Transfer Pricing / Cross Border Transactions:
- Extract all data regarding the intergroup transactions and prepare the necessary analysis required by the tax consultant.
- Ensure proper transfer pricing documentation is prepared in accordance with Transfer Pricing Guidelines.
- Compile and provide information for Country-by-Country Reporting.
Responsible for Overseeing e-Invoicing-related Activities and Compliance:
- Conduct daily checking on the company’s e-Invoice portal to ensure that all invoices are submitted and validated by the Inland Revenue Board.
- Act as key point of contact for external and internal stakeholders for any e-Invoicing related queries or issues.
- Collaborate with the development team to ensure product features are delivered on time and within budget.
- Provide significant functional expertise on e-Invoicing regulations and tax laws.
Others:
- Monitor and assess changes in tax legislation and advise management on their impact.
- Provide advice on financial reporting relating to tax transactions.
- Assist month-end closing and year-end audits on matters relating to taxation and deferred taxation.
- Work closely with other departments, such as finance, legal, and business units, to ensure cohesive tax strategy and compliance.
- Involve in other ad-hoc projects as assigned.
About You
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting with at least 8 years relevant taxation experience in a professional service firm.
- Possess professional accounting qualification: ACCA, CPA, or equivalent.
- Proficient in Malaysian tax law knowledge.
- Excellent communication and written skills.
