The Day-To-Day Activities
The Technical Manager - Technology Strategist – Network Security position is responsible for developing secure network architecture and a roadmap to protect U Mobile's network infrastructure and data, adopting the principle of Security-by-design approach. This role will work closely with the relevant engineering teams to design and implement security solutions for U Mobile's network and wholesale services.
Key Accountabilities
• Custodian of mid-term network strategy and architecture for network security
• Develop a comprehensive security architecture meeting industry standards and regulatory requirements, to support both U Mobile network and wholesale network services
• Develop network security solutions, adopting Network Security by design
• Track and study new/emerging network security technologies and industry trends, prioritizing and putting them into business perspective/importance for UM adoption
• Work closely with U Mobile ISD security team to develop and maintain security frameworks, guidelines, and best practices for mobile application development and deployment
• Represent network for network security strategic inputs for overall corporate security policy
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to communicate security requirements and foster a security-aware culture
• Lead RFP/RFQ for new network security solutions
• Provide network security strategy to support the yearly budget planning (AOP)
About You
1. Education/What people Know:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic/Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CSSP, CISM, or equivalent
2. Experience/What people Have Done:
• Min 7 years working experience in network security or related roles
• Project experience in network security, particularly in the wholesale telecommunications solution
• Knowledge and experience with risk management frameworks, compliance standards relevant to wholesale operations, as well as experience working with regulatory compliance in the telecommunication industry is a plus point
3. Competencies/What people Can Do:
• Knowledge and experience in security practices, protocols, and architecture – e.g. firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, security gateway, IP-security tunnel, security certificates (PKI), and encryption solutions
• Good IP engineering design and implementation knowledge
• Knowledge in cloud security and emerging security technologies in telecommunications
• Strong acumen of technical and business

• Strong strategic critical thinking mindset and attentive to details; able to make strategic recommendations and proposals; identifying potential risks and proposing mitigations

• Strong communication, inter-personal skill, and professionalism in representing U Mobile externally, in industry forums, and MCMC etc.
