The Day-To-Day Activities
Technical Manager
Technology Strategist – Network Automation & Transformation position is responsible to develop the technology roadmap to shape and lead the strategy for transformation and automation of U Mobile’s network infrastructure.
This role will analyse emerging trends, identifying opportunities for improvement, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to design automation solutions and drive network modernization initiatives. The role will leverage cutting-edge technologies such as AI, ML, and digital twin, combined with network knowledge, to develop the strategy for autonomous network and innovation driving network and organization efficiency.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop a forward-thinking technology strategy and roadmap for network automation, leveraging AI and ML to improve network management and drive transformation.
- Align the strategy and roadmap with the organization’s overall objectives, future network needs, and digital transformation goals.
- Assess the network infrastructure, identify gaps, and define future technology adoption goals.
- Track and study technology evaluation, market trends as inputs to strategy for new and emerging technologies and enablers.
- Evaluate and incorporate emerging AI / ML technologies and methodologies applicable to network automation, including benchmarking technologies / solutions with industry best practices to recommend improvements or new technologies.
- Source and explore with vendors and technology partners for AI/ML-powered network automation tools, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic direction.
- Lead related new technology RFP, including vendor negotiation.
- Support periodic technology sharing with management team.
About You
- Education/ What people Know:
Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Data Science or related field. - Experience/ What people Have Done:
Minimum 7 years working experience, with >5 years in network strategy, architecture and planning, focusing on network automation & transformation.
Knowledge and understanding of mobile network architecture and operations, as well as network automation, self-healing networks, and performance optimization, e.g. adoption and applications of AI and ML, and digital-twin etc.
Strategize and lead RFP / RFQ.
Knowledge in network and cost modelling for scenario analysis and simulation.
Experience in leading new solutions, enablers, and product evaluation, trials, and testing.
Familiarity with cloud platforms and network automation integration, and hands-on experience with industry automation tools, implementing automation solutions for network provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and management is preferred. - Competencies/ What people Can Do:
