Senior SDWAN Professional Service Engineer

The position reports to the Lead, TAC Managed Services Engineer

Job Overview:

• Gathering information and requirements to design efficient software-defined wide area network (SDWAN) solutions using Fortinet technologies.
• Delivering proof of concept (PoC) implementation to validate technical solutions and demonstrate SDWAN functionality, performance, capabilities, and security to potential customers.
• Deploying SDWAN appliances to establish secure connectivity across customer headquarters, production data center, disaster recovery center, branches, and cloud environments.
• Configuring and optimizing SDWAN policies, including traffic engineering and quality of services (QoS), to ensure applications are running at optimal performance.
• Working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate SDWAN into network monitoring systems and information updating.
• Acting as an SDWAN subject matter expert and conducting training and knowledge transfers.
• Managing day-to-day operations with a focus on ensuring all projects are on track and providing advice on technical matters.
• Interfacing frequently with the service delivery team regarding day-to-day operations concerning project delivery.
• Managing professional service team resources and ensuring SOPs are followed.
• Reviewing and updating SOPs, documentation (As-built document, User Acceptance Test document, etc.).
• Demonstrating good problem-solving skills (fault isolation, problem resolution, and root cause analysis).
• Performing services handover to operations team.
• Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other departments, service providers, and vendor support organizations.

To be considered, you’ll need:

Qualifications & Certifications:

• At least an engineering/telecommunication bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Professional certification – Fortinet Certified Solution Specialist.
• At least 5 years of experience in service deployment and work experience in technical support centers or network operations centers.
• Additional certifications like CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent will be an advantage.

Technical Skills:

• Extensive hands-on experience in managing Fortinet security solutions, including FortiGate firewalls, SD-WAN, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer.
• Familiarity or working experience with other SDWAN solutions (e.g., Cisco, Aruba, VeloCloud) will be an advantage.
• Hands-on experience with Routing/Switching protocols. Knowledge/troubleshooting experience of protocols like TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, IPSEC, NAT, etc.
• Able to perform packet capture and conduct in-depth analysis.

Soft/Other Skills:

• Highly confident with excellent English speaking/writing skills, capable of handling calls and meetings with senior management/customers/vendors.
• Able to manage multiple issues simultaneously with proper attention/care given to each.
• Attention to detail and governance in project transition into production environments.
• Must excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
