• As part of the GDS strategy, BASF Shared Services Center Kuala Lumpur (BSSCKL) is one of the established Global Digital Hubs for the APAC region.
• In the Procurement Product Family in the Product Team Invoice Processing, you would consult and support our business partner for the implementation of satellite solutions and solution architecture in our complex landscape. This can include the design and architecture of the satellite solution or the integration of third-party solutions.
• The SAP Consultant understands functional requirements to provide our internal business partner with sustainable state-of-the-art solutions. You will also be responsible for implementing such solutions in cooperation with other teams in GDS and the business partner. You are responsible for the design and development of functional or technical applications or enhancements to existing applications.

Responsibility

• The SAP Consultant / Business Solution Consultant is a System/Solution Architect with advanced system knowledge & development skills, good knowledge and appreciation of business processes, detailed understanding of cross-functional relationships/impact, and a strategic overview of regional and local BASF needs.
• As Solution Architect, ensure and review project deliverables and ensure quality. Support in ensuring that all functional and technical knowledge is captured. Identify and manage gaps in the feasible design and coordinate with relevant stakeholders for solutioning and roll-out implementation.
• Lead a team of internal and external consultants in the entire project life cycle implementation; from “As-Is” Analysis, requirements study, design “To-Be”, build, configure, test the SAP solution, train key users, and perform application roll-outs across the BASF group of companies until post go-live support.
• Ensure respective team members develop sufficient documentation, train, and hand over for future support, maintenance, and enhancements.
• Support and/or steer the formulation of more complex cost estimates for solution design efforts and for all other relevant project phases as an integral part of the project life cycle planning process.
• Responsible for core solution development and contribute to the knowledge documentation development.
• Responsible to address complex requirements and modular focus point to handle change requests/projects assigned.
• Execute more complex prototyping/configuration and testing of new business solutions based on dedicated BASF.
• Manage & maintain operational business support in the BASF SAP application landscape. In case of incidents, ensure restoring normal application services as quickly as possible and minimize adverse impact on operations including Problem management, Change Management (incl. small business requests), and Continuous Service Improvement (CSI).
• While performing studies and evaluations of purchased software, you will be responsible for designing and implementing prototypes in projects using new technologies such as S4/HANA, Fiori, API, and in a distributed system landscape (SAP UI5, cloud, or mobile applications).
• Able to communicate complex contexts convincingly to the stakeholders within BASF and build stable relationships.
• Provide internal training and functional knowledge development to project team members. Ensure project analysts demonstrate the required SAP application and business process skills.
• In the digitalization/innovation aspect, act as a Global representative of BASF Digital community, supporting BASF Digital roadmap, helping GDS to identify, execute, and implement customer-centric digital solutions in an actionable and measurable way.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Computer Science, informatics, business informatics, or in a comparable field.

Working Experience

• Minimum 6-8 years related working experience with complex SAP applications including S4HANA; knowledge of purchasing processes and financial invoice verification.

Technical & Professional Knowledge (Mandatory)

• Strong knowledge and understanding in SAP Material Management / Procurement (compulsory) modules within the SAP application is essential.
• Strong understanding of the Supply Chain Management processes.
• Understanding of how IS applications can support business processes and solve business issues.
• Technically able to understand ABAP coding (debug skills) with some working experience in SAP interfaces i.e. iDoc, RFC, API, …
• Experienced in leading and motivating a team of people, building team spirit and coaching staff when appropriate. Clear understanding of the role of the project lead.
• Ability to prioritize work based on business priorities, and to identify and resolve potential conflicts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, result-oriented and able to work independently in a multi-tasking role and under pressure with tight schedules.
• Effective human relations and communications skills are important to develop and establish cooperation and rapport with users at all working levels and of different nationalities, work as a team member within the Project team and Regional Business Solutions team.
• Ability to convey information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent English communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills in an international team combined with a very high level of customer orientation.

Technical & Professional Knowledge (Additional plus/nice to have Skills)

• Skill and knowledge in Invoice Verification module within the SAP application.
• Familiar with connector tools and platforms such as Elemica, Tungsten Process Director, CPI, ASAPIO.
• Familiar with data conversion tools and data conversion methodology.
• Good knowledge in authorization objects, roles & profiles.
• Experience in Agile way of working or agile implementation approach.
• Strong Digital mindset to accelerate BASF Digitalization transformation journey.
