We are currently looking for a Senior Rigging Artist to join our quest.
Job Summary:
The Senior Rigging Artist is responsible for designing and maintaining a smooth and efficient rig for CG assets. He or she must have a strong understanding of CG pipelines and production methods and a strong management style with excellent organizational and artistic skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high quality rig within the schedule and budget.
- Help improve the rigging process between modelling and animation.
- Develop tools to automate character rigs for long form productions.
- Provide suggestions and solutions whenever needed.
- Initiate the process to check the modelers' work to ensure that the model works before handing over to rigging.
- Assist and guide modelers to create a good model with good topology.
- Provide assistance and guidance to junior or intermediate riggers.
- Communicate with all departments.
- Encourage and inspire teammates to improve and stay positive.
- Work with Supervisor and Animation Director to create rigs that are suitable for animation.
- Maintain timing and production quotas given by the coordination team and the Supervisor.
- Work with the Supervisor to ensure the integration and maintenance of configurations.
- Maintain good team dynamics.
Required Skills:
- 3+ years of industry (CG and/or Visual Effects) or equivalent rigging experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Computer Animation, or other relevant areas of study and/or equivalent job experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of CG, pipeline and associated software/plugins.
- Experience in a variety of Maya rigging techniques and the ability to optimize the performance of rigs.
- Good communication skills and excellent team player.
- Strong sense of anatomy.
- Be comfortable with a LINUX environment.
- A creative problem-solver.
- Basic modeling skills and ability to understand polygonal mesh flow.
- Strong knowledge of character kinematics, deformation and biomechanics.
- Experience rigging a variety of characters and props, including facial animation systems.
- Experience with Python and MEL is a plus.
- Knowledge of dynamics is a plus.
Remark:
This position will require the successful applicant to relocate and work on-site at our studio in Malaysia.
