Job description

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and formulate new product recipes and/or improve existing product recipes by utilizing new or existing product ingredients supplied by the company.
  2. Conduct sensory tests on ingredients and products using additives or functional ingredients.
  3. Work with the marketing team to determine and establish new projects and products for new and existing customers. Monitor progress against the agreed timeline and requirements, and check on current food regulatory requirements needed.
  4. Report findings and progress to superiors in a timely manner.
  5. Calculate costs for new product development, product samples, and new projects. Generate a costing report and present it to your superior for further action.
  6. Handle and prepare all samples requested by superiors or customers.
  7. Run errands using own vehicle, purchase ingredients for R&D usage, and collect samples from suppliers.

Job Requirements:

  1. Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Food Technology, Nutrition, Food Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.
  2. At least 3 years of food manufacturing working experience in developing frozen food or similar products.
  3. Meticulous with attention to detail, hands-on, and willing to take on additional responsibilities.
  4. Innovative, creative, idealistic, and passionate about food research and development.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work under diverse cultures.
  6. Independent, highly organized, and possess good multi-tasking skills to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Possess own transport.
  8. Candidates who can converse fluently in English, Malay, and Mandarin are preferred.
