Salary Range: Basic MYR5,800 – MYR8,500

Job Responsibilities:

1. Cost Management: Prepare, monitor, and control project budgets. Ensure all costs are tracked and managed efficiently to stay within budget.
2. Estimating: Conduct detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment. Prepare Bills of Quantities (BoQ).
3. Project Analysis: Conduct cost analysis and provide detailed reports on project progress and financial performance. Identify and mitigate any financial risks.
4. Procurement: Assist in the procurement process, including preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and selecting contractors and suppliers.
5. Valuation: Carry out valuations for interim and final payments. Ensure accurate and timely processing of payments.
6. Client Relations: Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders. Communicate project financial status and address any concerns.
7. Compliance: Ensure all work complies with relevant legal, regulatory, and professional standards.
8. Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, QS Contract Manager, and other team members to ensure accurate cost management and project delivery.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

1. Minimum project costing.
2. Ensure project timeline delivery.
3. Ensure project resource utilization at the optimal level.
4. Zero complaints during/after project handover.

Job Requirements:

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
2. Experience: 8-10 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, preferably within the construction infrastructure industry.
3. Skills: Proficiency in quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, MS Project). Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
4. Personal Characteristics: High level of accuracy and attention to detail, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong organizational and time management skills.
5. Professional Certifications: BQSM certification.
