Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the role

Simfur Design Sdn Bhd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Penang. As a full-time employee, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of our construction projects, ensuring cost-effective and efficient project delivery.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities for construction projects
• Analysing and interpreting contractual documents to identify risks and opportunities
• Monitoring and controlling project costs throughout the construction process
• Negotiating and managing sub-contractor agreements and variations
• Providing regular cost reports and financial forecasts to project stakeholders
• Collaborating with project managers, architects, and engineers to optimise project delivery
• Ensuring compliance with relevant construction industry regulations and standards

What we're looking for

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field
• Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry
• Proven track record in managing the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction to completion
• Excellent understanding of construction contracts, tendering, and cost control processes
• Proficient in the use of quantity surveying software and digital tools
• Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and lead cross-functional projects
