Key Objectives
Serve as the Lead QA/QC Engineer for the construction of an onshore gas plant. The primary responsibility is to manage QA/QC processes during the construction phase, ensuring compliance with Project Specifications and Contract requirements. Additionally, responsible for implementing the Project Quality Plan across the construction sites.
Accountabilities
Regularly monitor non-conformances and ensure that NCRs are issued, with appropriate corrective actions taken promptly to close the NCRs.
Participate in various audits conducted by both the Contractor and the Company, follow up on audit findings, and ensure their closure.
Coordinate with internal teams, including engineering, construction, SSHE, and commissioning, on QA/QC-related interfaces.
Supervise inspectors' activities, providing guidance and mentoring as necessary.
Monitor the Contractors QA/QC performance, address quality issues with the Contractor, and attend regular QA/QC meetings.
Liaise with the QA/QC Team Leader on all quality issues and regularly report on the Contractor's quality performance.
Follow up and verify As Built and Final documentation.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Production, Welding, Metallurgy Engineering, or a related field.
Over 20 years experience in QA/QC within oil and gas construction projects, including 10 years in onshore gas plants, refineries, or petrochemical units.
Minimum of 5 years in a Lead QA/QC role, with experience in projects involving high H2S (sour service environment).
Extensive background in welding, fabrication techniques, NDT, and blasting/painting for onshore gas plants, refineries, or petrochemical units.
Proficient in RT, UT, PT, and MPI non-destructive testing methods, with the ability to interpret radiographs and witness these tests.
Certified ASNT Level II in RT and UT, and holds a Welding Inspector certification such as CSWIP 3.2 or AWS SCWI.
Certified Lead Auditor to ISO 9001:2015, recognised by IRCA.
Familiar with international standards like AWS D1.1, ASME B31.3, ASME Section IX, MR 0175, among others.
Competent in interpreting weld symbols, fabrication drawings, and isometric drawings.
NACE Certified Coating Inspector Level II, with excellent communication, coordination, and organisational skills.
