Senior Project Engineer (M&E)

About the Role:

We are hiring a Senior Project Engineer (M&E) to join a leading multinational M&E contractor for a data center project in Johor. This is an exciting opportunity for engineers passionate about mechanical and electrical (M&E) construction and critical infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate M&E works on the project site.
• Carry out construction in specific areas of mechanical and electrical works.
• Monitor M&E work progress to ensure it meets project requirements, budget, and timeline, promptly addressing any issues or delays.
• Construct building facilities, electronic systems, air conditioning systems, and plumbing systems, especially for data centers.
• Liaise and coordinate with the client, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure M&E works comply with contract and authority requirements.
• Prepare and conduct M&E meetings; update site progress reports to the head office.
• Review quantity calculations or take-offs for cost analysis, quotations, or tender purposes.
• Prepare submission documents and coordinate site preparation.
• Manage various project stakeholders on site, including clients, consultants, subcontractors, and vendors, to meet project requirements.
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
• Create detailed work schedules, manpower plans, and resource allocation.
• Implement and coordinate the safety management system on site.
• Track and report on project progress.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the reporting manager.

Key Requirements:

• A recognized bachelor’s degree in Engineering - (Electrical/Electronic), Engineering (Mechanical), or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in M&E construction (data center is an added advantage but not limited)
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, and critical facility infrastructure.
• Possess good numerical skills, sharp analytical thinking.
