Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with Automation and Analytics (A&A) Development Engineering team, inclusive cross functional department & other technical teams to define, identify and implement the success criteria of the hardware/software/system project.
• Responsible for enabling collaboration with academic and company A&A team in designing and developing automation systems and software to improve operations efficiency and productivity.
• Develop auto tracking system (webpage or apps) for Automation & Analytics projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop activities around hardware and software project kickoffs, scope definition, design reviews, acceptance testing, and weekly progress reports.
• Continuously monitor and measure hardware and software development projects and activities to identify and communicate potential issues, risks, or problems in a timely fashion and provide corrective action options to drive to resolution.
• Examine existing hardware and software frameworks and platforms for opportunities to enable automation or autonomy.
• Enable technology Research and Development to create new and breakthrough automation solutions.
• Prepare Budgetary and ROI data management from A&A projects.
• Identify and document all software project milestones and deliverables and keep project plans up to date, including resource allocations, tracking hours, monitoring schedules, milestones, deliverables, updating percentage completion, etc.
• Provide insight around potential risks and opportunities, resolve conflict, initiate resolution and deliver results.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

• Degree in computer science, Mechanical, EE or Mechatronics Engineering, or another quantitative discipline.
• Good mind mapping and proficient in MS Excel, MS Project and PowerPoint presentation.
• Fundamental programming knowledge (C++/C#, Python, Java, Visual Studio) to aid project management and development activities.
• Strong passion and knowledge in technical and engineering troubleshooting skills.
• Experience in fundamental software and system architecture design and passion for disruptive automation development and approaches.
• Capable of working independently with A&A development engineering team and cross-functional departments for new automation and analytics development projects.
• Passion for engineering development activities to uncover root causes, derive long solutions including designs and managing new Automation and Analytics Projects with the Automation hardware team.

PREFERRED:

• Understanding of fundamental programming architecture (e.g., PLC logic, C#, C++, ROS) to enable technical collaboration with academics and engineers to enhance automation logic, system flow efficiency and/or detection capability.
• Exposure or hands-on experience in high volume manufacturing automation software development and programming.
• Strong analytical, technical troubleshooting and creative problem-solving skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and understand problems and conceptualize solutions.
• Understanding of machine learning, data mining, quantitative analysis, artificial intelligence and predictive modeling is a plus.
• Ability to communicate with different hierarchy levels from diverse geographical areas and cultures.
• Strategically focused, impact-oriented, highly organized and adaptable.
• Fluent in English and a local Asian language, both spoken and written.
