Job Description

The Team

The Design Team at SEEK is made up of 60+ professionals including UX and Product design, Visual design, Research, Design Systems, Specialisms and Operations. We are distributed primarily across Australia, Malaysia, and Hong Kong. As a member of this large, mature, and growing community, the Senior Product Designer will join the Candidate Discovery subdomain and will have support from a wide range of design professionals, including our Design Ops and Research Ops teams. This is a great opportunity to join a leading multi-national design team within an organisation that appreciates the value of design.

About the role

This new Senior Product Designer role will be based at SEEK’s Kuala Lumpur office, a regional hub for our global operations. The designer will have a clear product area of responsibility that will help drive business growth. They will be working in a dynamic area involving the job search and discovery experiences of tens of millions of unique visitors each month.

The role reports into the Design Lead responsible for candidate job discovery experiences across APAC. They will work within a multi-functional squad focused on personalized and first-time experiences on our web and app platforms. Day-to-day they will collaborate with a geographically distributed team of product managers, engineers, analysts, and delivery experts to bring value for job seekers. They will be solving design problems ‘at scale’ for our global platforms, spanning 8 countries across Asia-Pacific.

Our Senior Product Designers are specialist practitioners that can act with autonomy in their assigned squads and collaborate with others to drive both the products and practice forward. They create innovative solutions for products through their knowledge of user interface and interaction design, research and insights as well as prototypes and development.

Responsibilities

• Leads all UX activities within their assigned program of work, from research through to ideation and delivery
• Advocate for the user and conduct research that delivers actionable insights for the squad
• Collaborate with the Product Manager, Tech Lead and other designers to shape product solutions
• Understand outcomes and success metrics, and continuously iterate on solutions where required
• Facilitate a collaborative and transparent design process within the team
• Communicate insights, issues, and solutions effectively to the squad and all relevant team members across the organization.
• Contribute to vision work and other broader pieces in the Domain where required
• Participate in initiatives that contribute to the evolution of the Design Team practice
• Use and enhance our Design System tooling
• Coaches, mentors and grows others in the team

Qualifications

You don’t need to have all of these, but if you have many of them, we’d love to hear from you. We recognize that mentality and potential are part of what makes a good candidate.

Essential experience

• 8 years or more working in digital product or user experience design
• Experience designing for omni-channel experiences across app and web

What you will bring

• Experience in experience mapping and interaction design
• Experience in working in an agile team
• Experience with completing research with users
• Experience with wireframing and prototyping tools to demonstrate your design approach and vision
• Experience in Design Thinking techniques, especially workshop facilitation to guide scope and ideation
• Proven ability to transform customer insights into beautiful and effortless experiences
• Strong written, verbal and visual communication skills to work in and with other distributed teams

Other skills

• Experience working on online marketplaces is highly regarded
• Experience with Information Architecture and designing for navigation systems
• Ability to synthesise data from many sources to propose coherent design solutions
• Experience working with design systems and producing visual design and screen layouts
• Ability to teach and coach others about design
• Experience in prioritisation and trade-off discussions
