Senior Procurement Manager

This position is responsible for managing procurement of all materials, parts, supplies and services for Heidelberg Materials Malaysia at the best possible terms and conditions of purchase and the minimization of capital employed in holding all inventories.

• Support and ensure smooth integration with regional and global purchasing.
• Develop, communicate and implement a procurement strategy to align the procurement function to the business and provide operations business support to ensure business competitiveness.
• Provide leadership of the function with excellent and concise communications within the procurement team and across the business.
• Ensure the procurement team actively involve operational technical experts in developing specifications for goods and services.
• Support appointment/recruiting procurement candidate based on job description.
• Support communication of purchasing set-up within the organization. Improve overall long-term business capability by identifying and leading the delivery of training and instruction in procurement related processes and systems.
• Develop a detailed spend map for the business that will clearly priorities key procurement improvement initiatives with agreement of the business.
• Support appropriate controlling set-up (budget, KPIs).
• Work with IT to build on existing platform relating to processes and controls.
• Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Group guidelines, performing trainings, monitoring compliance etc.
• Proactively manage health & safety of employees to continuously improve the company's health & safety performance.
• In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.

Job requirements:

• Bachelor Degree, Post Graduate or Certificate in Purchasing or its equivalent.
• At least 5 year of working experience in Procurement Functions and in a supervisory role or its equivalent.
• Possess a high degree of integrity and display maturity when dealing with suppliers.
• Excellent leadership qualities with strong drive for achievement, strong organizational ability and effective management skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, to interact comfortably with all levels of people.
• To comply with all aspects of the Heidelberg Materials Malaysia Compliance Policy.
