We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior People Operations Partner to join our team. This role will support our HR functions, focusing on people experience, cultural development, office management, and operational excellence for both our Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) and South Africa (Cape Town) teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR, particularly within the tech industry, and will be adept at managing HR systems, talent acquisition, employee lifecycle programs, and office management. Knowledge of local industry HR onboarding and employment law in Malaysia is a key requirement.
Your mission:
People Experience & Cultural Development:
- Support the development and implementation of initiatives that enhance employee engagement and company culture.
- Assist in creating programs that promote a positive work environment and employee well-being.
HR Leadership:
- Provide guidance and support to the HR teams in both Kuala Lumpur and Cape Town, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with regional People Leaders and senior management to drive HR strategies.
HRIS and Data Analytics:
- Manage HRIS systems such as HiBob and BambooHR, ensuring accurate data management and reporting.
- Utilize HR data analytics to inform decision-making and improve HR processes.
Talent Acquisition and Onboarding:
- Work with Talent Acquisition teams to support recruitment efforts and manage rapid headcount growth.
- Oversee onboarding programs to ensure a smooth transition for new employees, with a heavy focus on creating a welcoming and effective onboarding experience.
- Develop and implement unique onboarding and employee lifecycle programs to enhance new starter integration and engagement.
Office Management:
- Oversee office management responsibilities in both Kuala Lumpur and Cape Town, ensuring well-maintained and efficient office environments.
- Manage office supplies, facilities, and vendor relationships to support daily operations.
- Coordinate office events and activities to foster a positive workplace culture.
Due Diligence and M&A:
- Assist with due diligence processes and post-merger integration projects.
- Ensure seamless integration of new employees and alignment with company policies.
Employment Law and Employee Relations:
- Provide support on matters related to Malaysia’s employment law, recruitment, employee relations, and compensation & benefits.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in both Malaysia and South Africa.
Talent Management:
- Support talent management initiatives, including talent assessments, development paths, and job architecture projects.
- Assist in the development and implementation of training and development programs.
Employer Branding:
- Lead employer branding initiatives on platforms like LinkedIn and other social media.
- Promote the company as an employer of choice through various branding activities.
HR System Migration and Payroll:
- Assist with HR system migrations and ensure smooth transitions.
- Provide support for payroll processes and legal transfers (TUPE).
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and ESG:
- Support regional CSR and ESG programs, promoting social responsibility and sustainability initiatives.
Staff Development and Training:
- Develop and implement staff development and training programs.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in HR, with a focus on people experience and cultural development.
- 2-3 years of HR leadership experience, preferably in the tech industry (Cloud/MSP/Security services).
- Proficiency with HRIS systems (e.g., HiBob, BambooHR) and HR data analytics tools.
- Experience in talent acquisition, onboarding, and employee lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with due diligence, mergers & acquisitions, and post-close integration.
- Understanding of Malaysia’s employment law and HR best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think creatively and collaboratively about staff development and training.
