Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (m/f/d)

Based in Melaka

Job Description:

You will be responsible for the design and development of assembly groups, mock-ups, and drives, ensuring they meet technical specifications. This includes specifying complex purchase parts, preparing manufacturing documents (drawings, BOMs, instructions), and designing pneumatic circuit diagrams. You will also carry out hazard analysis and risk assessments according to CE regulations, develop new mechanical applications, and define spare and wear parts. Managing smaller development projects, updating documents, and working cross-departmentally with the electronics and software teams are also key aspects of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design & development of assembly groups mock-ups
2. Designing and dimensioning of drives and components
3. Specify suitable, even complex purchase parts
4. Design review and assembly releases
5. Preparation and examination of manufacturing documents (detail drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs, assembly and test instructions)
6. Preparation of pneumatic circuit diagrams
7. Preparation of sensors and action list for electronic design
8. Execution of hazard analysis and risk assessment according to CE regulations
9. Development of new mechanical applications via hardware (guidings, pneumatic applications, springs & etc.) in line with the technological changes
10. Defining of spare and wear parts
11. Carry out change and error reports
12. Update manufacturing documents and drawings
13. Preparation of customer specific, internal requests BOMs
14. Project management of smaller development projects
15. Other tasks assigned by superior

Requirements:

1. Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
2. Knowledge in CAD-system, especially SolidWorks
3. Knowledge about ISO-norms. CE knowledge is an advantage
4. Knowledge of electrical and pneumatic drive technology
5. Multidisciplinary knowledge for design of mechatronics assembly groups (together with electronics design and software department)
6. Self-organized and independent
7. Show inter-department team spirit while solving complex tasks
