About the Role

  • Responsible for providing vision and setting merchandising & planning strategies for the brand.
  • Lead a team of merchants and is accountable for key areas of regional planning (OTB, Pricing, Sales / Stocks Performance), inventory management, purchase cycle, reporting, and other general administration and activities that relate to the successful implementation of brand strategy.
  • Work closely with Planning Manager, Operations, and Inventory & Logistics team to ensure the sales and margin objectives of the Brand are achieved.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Managers to drive marketing through a product lens.

Key Responsibility Areas:

As the Senior Merchandising Manager for Victoria’s Secret, you will hold a pivotal leadership position focused on elevating our brand and product offerings. Your primary objective will be to strategically manage merchandise and planning functions, fostering brand growth, and optimizing inventory to drive sales and profitability.

Product Strategy and Brand Building:

  • Develop and execute product strategies aligned with overall brand vision and market trends.
  • Craft seasonal plans by category and store to maximize profitability and enhance brand presence.
  • Spearhead merchandise classification analytics to decipher trends, pricing impacts, and inventory positions, ensuring alignment with brand identity.

Inventory Management and Product Selection:

  • Oversee inventory management across regions, ensuring accurate forecasting and allocation of products to meet demand.
  • Ensure timely delivery of orders to warehouses and shop floors in collaboration with the Logistics team.

Brand Representation and Customer Engagement:

  • Monitor product performance through comprehensive analysis, recommending strategic actions such as stock movement, promotions, or markdowns to drive sales.
  • Gather customer feedback on product launches to inform future strategies and enhance brand resonance.
  • Stay abreast of luxury market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to inform product selection and brand positioning.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Mentor and coach the merchandising team on crafting quality sales and stock plans, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Conduct performance management evaluations biannually, ensuring alignment with business objectives and fostering a positive working environment.
  • Supervise planners to ensure plans meet financial objectives while maintaining brand integrity.

Operational Excellence and Collaboration:

  • Maintain adherence to retail operations procedures, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Cultivate a positive working relationship with brand principals, fostering collaboration and alignment with brand strategies.
  • Drive ad hoc analyses to identify opportunities for sales and profit growth, contributing to overall brand success.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum a Diploma/Degree in any discipline.
  • Minimum 12 years of merchandising experience in luxury goods or a comparable retail environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in using planning and merchandising analytics tools.
  • Proven track record of successful assortment planning, inventory management, and demand forecasting.
