Senior Manager of Government Affairs & Compliance

Role Overview:

We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Senior Manager of Government Affairs & Compliance to join our team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of managing key government interactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and advocating for policies that support our company’s growth and sustainability initiatives. You will work closely with government agencies and industry stakeholders, securing permits, influencing policy decisions, and minimizing regulatory risks, all while making a significant impact on the future of our infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Regulatory Compliance & Permits: Ensure strict adherence to environmental policies, data protection laws, and telecommunications regulations in data center operations. Oversee the seamless application and approval processes for permits, supporting new projects and expansions.
• Policy Advocacy & Government Relations: Stay ahead of regulatory trends and proactively shape policies that foster growth in the data center industry. Champion favorable policies on tax incentives, zoning, and energy efficiency. Build strong relationships with policymakers and industry associations to advocate for our business needs.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with key government bodies, regulatory authorities, and industry influencers at all levels. Represent the company in industry forums and public consultations, ensuring our voice is heard on critical issues.
• Crisis & Risk Management: Take charge of managing government-related challenges, including regulatory investigations and enforcement actions. Develop and implement strategic plans to protect the company’s reputation and reduce operational risks.
• Public Affairs & Community Outreach: Collaborate with internal teams to communicate effectively with both government and public stakeholders. Engage with local communities to address concerns, support workforce development, and advocate for our sustainability initiatives.
• Monitoring & Strategic Analysis: Track and analyze emerging policy shifts and government initiatives that could impact the business. Conduct thorough research, evaluate potential risks, and provide actionable recommendations to guide strategic decisions.

REQUIREMENTS

• 7+ years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or regulatory compliance, preferably in the data center, technology, or infrastructure sector.
• Strong knowledge of data center regulations, energy policies, and infrastructure development.
• Proven experience in stakeholder management and policy advocacy.
• Familiarity with local, regional, and national government structures and regulatory processes.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to travel as needed for government meetings and industry events.
