Job description

Location: Anywhere in peninsula Malaysia, with preference in the Klang Valley
Employment Type: Full-Time
Level: Senior Management

Are you a strategic thinker with a flair for creative problem-solving? Do you thrive in a dynamic environment where financial rigour meets operational agility? We’re looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Manager – Finance and Operations to steer our finance function while driving excellence across HR, administration, programme delivery, and internal projects.

Your team will include four full-time and at least one part-time staff member, including two managers who will report to you. You will report to the CEO.

This is a rare opportunity for a professional who enjoys working at the intersection of numbers, people, and systems. You will anchor the financial stability and operational smoothness of a growing organisation with ambitious goals and a very collaborative people-centred culture.

What You’ll Be Doing

Finance Leadership

  1. Oversee and develop a small but high-performing finance team, including a Finance Manager and Senior Finance Executive, both well-versed in MYOB accounting software.
  2. Take ownership of cash flow strategy—crafting and maintaining budget sheets, ensuring prioritised payment schedules, and keeping accounts receivable on track.
  3. Ensure precision in financial data entry and documentation, supporting seamless external audits and timely, insightful reporting to leadership.
  4. Forecast financial health and co-develop mitigation strategies for financial risk, in alignment with revenue and business projections.
  5. Work closely with the Head of Sales to align cash flow and finance strategy with broader business needs and growth targets.
  6. Utilise a strong understanding of Malaysian tax regulations and investment strategies to enhance efficiency, compliance, and profitability.
  7. Work with our Auditors in Malaysia and Singapore to prepare and submit annual reports to relevant government bodies.

Operations Leadership

  1. Lead the operations team across HR, administration, internal project management, training logistics, and IT coordination.
  2. Oversee core HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and contract management.
  3. Manage internal projects such as system migrations, marketing rollouts, and public programme coordination, ensuring on-time, high-quality delivery.
  4. Ensure strong operational systems and processes that are scalable, compliant, and responsive to business needs.
  5. Build cross-functional alignment and facilitate seamless communication between departments.

What You Bring

  1. A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CMA) is highly desirable.
  2. At least 7 years of proven experience in a senior finance and/or business operations role, ideally within an SME or fast-paced corporate environment.
  3. Strong command of MYOB or similar accounting software.
  4. Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, risk mitigation, and financial reporting.
  5. Solid track record in managing teams and cross-functional collaboration.
  6. Deep familiarity with Malaysian tax laws, regulatory compliance, and investment planning.
  7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
  8. A detail-oriented, analytical mindset balanced with creativity and adaptability.

Why This Role Matters

You’ll be the backbone of the organisation—ensuring clarity in finances and flow in operations. Your decisions will directly influence the company’s agility, compliance, and long-term growth. If you love building systems, coaching teams, and partnering with leadership to shape strategy, this is your opportunity to make a real impact.

If this sounds like your next leadership challenge, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today.
