Responsibilities:

  • Participate and contribute to the formulation and implementation of FIMM’s Strategic Planning and Business Plan.
  • Lead, manage, train, motivate and provide guidance to department to ensure efficient and timely delivery of high quality work, tasks and projects.
  • Responsible for planning the department’s resources for the annual budget and ensure efficient utilization of resources within the department.
  • Maintain strong rapport with effective communication and regular engagements, with all stakeholders on matters pertaining to FIMM and the industry.
  • Prepare regular reports for General Manager/Chief Executive Officer.
  • Perform all duties and assignments as directed by the General Manager and/or CEO.
  • Specific:
  • (i) Financial Accounting and Reporting:
  • Develop and maintain timely and accurate monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Provide and interpret financial information through monthly variance reporting.
  • Prepare Board and Committee meeting papers on the agenda that are relevant to Finance department.
  • Review Finance Department’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and ensure that the department’s policies and procedures are up to date.
  • Develop, implement and ensure compliance with the internal financial and accounting policies and procedures as prescribed in Finance Department’s SOP.
  • Ensure timely submission of all periodic reports/returns/notifications as required by the law and/or any other regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare all supporting information/documents for the annual audit and key liaison person with the external auditors.
  • Document and maintain a complete and accurate supporting information/documents for all financial transactions.
  • Oversee the bookkeeping function including maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Manage the acquisition of approved capital assets and ensure that all assets are properly recorded, amortized and disposed of in accordance to the prescribed procedures.
  • Ensure efficient and effective cash flow management and recommend the optimal investment instruments as part of treasury management.
  • Create/suggest solutions to new financial challenges or opportunities by applying financial knowledge.
  • Provide advice on financial matters or issues that are impacting FIMM as a whole.
  • Liaise, develop and maintain external relationships with tax agent, company secretary, bankers and any other regulatory/statutory organizations such as the Inland Revenue, Custom Department, etc.
  • Maintain and manage the accounting system (Biztrak) and any other related accounting systems/applications.
  • Supervise the work of Finance Department’s staff and encourage staff development via training or education, and motivate them to be more pro-active, effective and efficient.
  • Keep abreast with the latest changes in the financial/accounting regulations and legislations.

(ii) Budget Preparation and Monitoring:

  1. Establish guidelines for budget and forecast preparation and prepare the annual budget for Management’s review and the Board of Directors’ approval.
  2. Budget monitoring through monthly variance analysis and reports.

(iii) Procurement:

  1. Oversee all procurement activities, develop and implement procurement strategies for the company.
  2. Ensure all procurement activities adhere to the company’s Procurement Policy and Procedures.
  3. Assess vendor performance to maintain reliability and quality of product/service deliveries.

Qualifications:

  1. Degree in Accounting and/or professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent.

Experience:

  1. Minimum eight (8) years in managerial position with strategic planning experience.
  2. Minimum eight (8) years in aforementioned discipline.
  3. Minimum five (5) years in procurement management.
  4. Minimum three (3) years working with Board of Directors and relevant regulators.
  5. In-depth knowledge and skills for the preparation of financial statements which includes Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement and Statement of Financial Position of the company.
  6. Investment Management experience is an advantage.
