Assist the Head in developing and implementing a flexible audit strategy using appropriate risk-based methodology including business process risk assessments for key business lines.
Establish work plans, based on the approved Project Outlines; i.e. including project schedules and staff scheduling, etc. to execute the Annual Audit Plan.
Assist the Head, Internal Audit Department in:
Ensures department standards are followed in execution of assignments including the appropriate nature and extent of audit coverage.
Evaluate the adequacy of system design and internal control framework in meeting business, operational and control objectives.
Supervise staff and provide necessary support during the audit assignment throughout the duration.
Identify and assess materiality of risk & control weaknesses ensuring facts are gathered and full meaning is understood.
Identify underlying causes of risk & control weaknesses and provide practical recommendations as to how they can be mitigated.
Escalate weaknesses identified to the Head, Internal Audit Department on a timely basis.
Review audit findings for the presentation to the auditee(s) and the management.
Follow-up on outstanding audit issues for timely resolution.
Prepare audit issues/finding, which clearly report the extent, cost and risk of the error, including the impact of those issues on achievement of control objectives, operations processing, financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
Prepare reports on the areas audited providing concise & accurate information on the condition of the auditee(s) and adequacy of the controls over the operations.
Prepare periodic or annual performance self-assessments for measurement of performance.
Manage the development of staff by providing direction and coaching; sharing of technical skills/knowledge to other staff through peer discussions.
Keep abreast of changes in laws, regulations, professional standards and changes in the Bank that could affect the business risk profile.
Maintain effective communication with the auditee(s), management, regulators and external auditors as required.
Provide views in an advisory capacity on the compliance and adequacy of control processes during planning and development of new major products, systems or technology operations.
As advised by the Head, Audit Committee or requested by Management, to carry out specific projects or investigations.
At least a Bachelor degree in finance, banking, accounting or equivalent from a reputable university. Possesses the professional certifications; (i.e. CBA, Professional Credit Certification in Business and any other recognised credit professional certifications) will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in broad knowledge of credit risk management is essential, covering credit products, risk management and operations.
Strong analytical skills and resourceful of business/industry development.
PC literate preferably in Windows Microsoft Office (e.g. Words, Excel, etc).
Good communication skills in English and/or Mandarin (both verbal and written).
