Senior Geologist
Job Description:
Report to: Head of Planning Dept.
Client: A subsidiary of a leading oil and gas exploration and production company.
Responsibilities:
Assist with all geological studies for the company, including core/cutting analysis/studies, etc.
Update reservoir characterisation for FDP, aid in FDP finalization.
Assist with LL-3 well operation and post-drill evaluation, coordinate with various departments (e.g. post-drilled, budget, planning, etc.).
Support all geological studies for the company's CCS project.
Support geological data gathering requirements for MMV Plan for CCS project.
Support internal and external evaluations for FDP/FID.
Plan and supervise investigations by geological service contractors or an in-house research team in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Supervise laboratory work.
Execute detailed well targeting, a data acquisition plan, all related programs, and post-drill review.
Well surveillance, monitoring of exploration, and appraisal wells, including well-sitting if needed.
Perform and regularly update geological models to support field development and storage development plans.
Review Basin Analysis studies and include in reservoir characterisation studies.
Participate in prospect appraisals in geological research.
Identify and quantify geological/subsurface uncertainties that affect the technical and commercial resilience of the projects.
Initiate and oversee geological studies conducted internally or by external contractors.
Enhance resource description and reservoir characterisation by integrating subsurface data (logs, cores, and seismic) with the geological understanding of the Southeast Asia region's depositional environment.
Supervise, coach, and mentor junior employees.
Qualifications:
University Degree or higher in Geology.
10 years' experience in Geology or similar fields with knowledge of geological modeling.
Knowledge of basin analysis, reservoir characterization, and facies description.
Capable of communicating internally and externally with a varied variety of stakeholders from various disciplines.
