Senior General Manager, Group Sustainability

Drive overall direction, leadership and management in the planning, execution, coordination and monitoring of business sustainability i.e. Environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”), Sustainable Development Goals (“SDG”), safety & health and business assurance which include strategies, policies and programs in-line with the company’s policies, objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership and direction in the formulation of business sustainability’s framework, strategies, policies and initiatives for SIRIM Group.
  • Provide advice and recommendations on key risks and issues relating to business sustainability i.e. Environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”), Sustainable Development Goals (“SDG”), safety & health, business assurance and anti-bribery.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to develop, enforce, maintain, and monitor policy, procedures and systems for the department in order strengthen integrity and governance, quality, OSH, environmental, and business performance.
  • Analyse, evaluate, and report company performance related to business sustainability i.e. Environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”), Sustainable Development Goals (“SDG”), safety & health and business assurance to the stakeholders.
  • Guide the overall management of SIRIM Group Limit of Approval (LOA) to ensure business continuity.
  • Drive, demonstrate and cultivate behaviours which reflects accountability in working environment for the success of SIRIM Cultural Beliefs amongst subordinates or team members to build sustainable high performance team.
  • Develop a strategic approach towards training and developing subordinates/staff by mentoring, coaching, motivating and guiding them to build competencies and knowledge, and create a challenging and successful career progression.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possesses Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Science / Technology or any related field.
  • Candidate with postgraduate/professional qualifications will have an added advantage.
  • Minimum 20 years of working experience within similar capacity.
  • Minimum 5 years in a senior management position is an added advantage.
  • Proven track record in leading a successful a business unit / company.
  • In-depth knowledge in governance, social, quality, environment, OSH, anti-bribery related legal, risk management, principles, best practices and other requirements.
  • Experienced in Enterprise Risk Management, ESG, Sustainability, Business continuity, Conformity Assessment including ISO standards.
  • Possess excellent organisational and planning skills with strong ability in strategic thinking and problem solving.
  • Excellent writing and communications skills.
  • Exceptional presentation skills and leadership skills.
  • Possess innovative mindset and ability to align technology initiatives with strategic business objectives.
