Job description

Performs internal auditing work; providing input to development of the Annual Audit Plan. Maintains all organisational and professional ethical standards.

Ensure compliance with regulations, related to the Environmental Quality Act, Safety and Health Act, and management system standards, while ensuring that the QESH achieves its intended results by incorporating a process approach, risk-based thinking, and implementing improvements to enhance performance.

KEY TASKS

  1. Supervise the compilation of the organisation's key risk areas and provides input to the development of the Annual Audit Plan.
  2. Perform audit procedures, including identifying and defining issues, developing criteria, reviewing and analysing evidence, and documenting client processes and procedures.
  3. Conduct interviews, review documents, compose summary memos, and prepare working papers.
  4. Identify, develop, and document audit issues and recommendations using independent judgement concerning areas being reviewed.
  5. Communicate the results of audit via written reports and oral presentations to management.
  6. Develop and maintain productive client and staff relationships through individual contacts and group meetings.
  7. Pursue professional development opportunities, including external and internal training and professional association memberships, and share information gained with co-workers.
  8. Represent Internal Audit on organisational project teams.
  9. Perform other related works as assigned by superior.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualification:

  • Minimum diploma, degree, or professional qualification/certification (e.g. CIA, CMIIA, CA(M), CPA or CISA).

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 to 8 years relevant working experience in auditing, accounting, or operations.

Special Skills Required:

  • Skills in applying internal auditing principles & practices.
  • Skills in collecting & analysing complex data, evaluating information & systems, and drawing logical conclusions.
  • Good planning skills, and in maintaining composure under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Computer literate in preparing working papers and reports.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and result-oriented.
  • Open-minded with a positive work attitude.
  • High integrity & discipline, team player, self-motivated, and resourceful.
