Senior Engineer, Product Development (Chassis - Automotive)

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate implementation of Supplier Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
• Perform on-site supplier visits to confirm progress towards production readiness and assess risk.
• Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions of supplier quality issues.
• Escalate unresolved supplier related issues (timing, quality concerns, etc) to PMO and responsible stakeholders for next course of actions.
• Assure incoming quality of components during prototype, pre-production and launch phases meet or exceed the required standards.
• Assess the supplier’s ability to produce to the quoted volumes, i.e run at rate evaluation requirements.
• Review and approve supplier’s PPAP.
• Collect and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement within the supply chain.
• Work with engineering, production engineering and suppliers as appropriate and create corrective action plans to address quality failures.
• Provide concise, complete and accurate documentation of inspection results.
• Facilitate escalation of unresolved supplier quality issues.
• Undertake relevant training and skill development to improve competency.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in any automotive/mechanical engineering or any relevant courses.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in automotive and manufacturing.
• Knowledge of automotive parts, system and suppliers.
• Good understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001/IATF 16949, APQP, FMEA, Control Plan, SPC and GD&T is an added advantage.
• Good problem-solving and presentation skills.
