Senior Engineer, Process and Flow Assurance

KEY OBJECTIVES
To provide advice and strategies for matters pertaining to process, flow assurance, and integrity management. This involves supporting frontline operations by ensuring unrestricted flow in processes and protecting the integrity of facilities.

To support the offshore and Bintulu Onshore Receiving Facility (BORF) team with technical expertise relating to Process and Flow Assurance matters. This includes design and site implementation in any process-related troubleshooting and optimization exercise for Sarawak assets.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Provide day-to-day operations support to COMPANY operating facilities, focusing on Sarawak offshore and onshore assets, with assistance for future developments as required.
2. Optimize processes, including topside process optimization from wells to pipelines, topside effluent and greenhouse gas management, utility systems, and receiving terminals. Monitor and improve process system performance and reliability.
3. Plan, schedule, and direct work for any process troubleshooting and debottlenecking exercises of Sarawak offshore and onshore existing assets. Ensure COMPANY operations production objectives are met and address constraints and operating problems impacting these objectives. Carry out process calculations and/or simulations using HYSYS or PIPESIM to resolve operational issues.
4. Manage minor studies/projects such as process modifications and performance monitoring. Supervise external contractors/consultants on process-related matters if required.
5. Support flow assurance issues related to moisture, emulsions, sand, wax/asphaltene, scales, and slugging.
6. Review and act as custodian for process drawings and documentation, such as P&ID, operating envelopes, and process simulation files.
7. Provide process engineering advice for production facilities on operating (brownfield) development, acting as Technical Authority and managing risk while focusing on simplicity and end goals.
8. Facilitate and participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and HAZOP studies associated with design changes for operating facilities. Contribute to Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs), Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFAs), HAZIDs, and SIL assessments to address process safety and reliability issues.
9. Provide technical support and input in alarm management matters and for changes to process safeguarding systems and relevant documentation.
10. Manage the end-to-end Management of Change process support relating to process systems for operating assets, including initiation and process engineering review until completion of work execution.
11. Stay updated on current offshore and onshore production technology and, when appropriate, instigate the use of new technologies and ideas in COMPANY facilities.
12. Support technical safety in internal and external audit findings and follow through until actions are closed out.
13. Review work packs, boundary isolation, and participate in risk assessments and pre-activity safety reviews (PASR), providing input and insight on Process and Flow Assurance matters during normal operations and major equipment start-ups.

KEY AUTHORITIES

1. Process Engineering matters relating to existing assets.
2. As provided/assigned by the Head of Operations Support.

WORKING RELATIONSHIP

1. Coordinate with Sarawak operations, all disciplines (surface and subsurface), and related contractors.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

1. Minimum a degree in Chemical Engineering.
2. Proficiency in Process engineering calculations and simulation skills with at least HYSYS and PIPESIM. Skills with OLGA are an added advantage. Proficient in industry and international standards relevant to Process Engineering and Process Safety.
3. In-depth knowledge of oil field process and flow assurance, with a minimum of 10 years' experience covering both oil and gas upstream processing facilities.
4. Good knowledge of both Oil and Gas production and familiarity with production processes. Experience working in integrated facilities with receiving gas and oil terminals.
5. Track record of working for/with an operator company.
6. Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
7. Strong personal and interpersonal skills with flexibility to meet the fluctuating needs of cross-functional operations support.
8. Willingness to travel to the field, both onshore and offshore.
