We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of smart manufacturing and lights out manufacturing automation systems for our production facilities. The successful candidate will have a strong background in automation engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and increase efficiency.
Job Description
In your new role you will:
Design, develop, and implement smart manufacturing and lights out manufacturing automation systems, including Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) devices and sensors, robotic systems, machine vision, PLC, AI/ML, data analytics and visualization platforms, Autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), automated guided vehicles (AGVs), etc.
Collaborate with production teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and develop solutions to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
Develop and maintain technical specifications, design documents, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for smart manufacturing and lights out manufacturing systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with automation systems, including debugging code and performing root cause analysis.
Lead and mentor junior engineers and technicians in the design, development, and implementation of smart manufacturing and lights out manufacturing projects.
Work closely with quality and safety teams to ensure that automation systems meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful project execution.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in smart manufacturing, manufacturing automation, and lights out manufacturing, and recommend new technologies and solutions to improve manufacturing processes.
Your Profile
You are best equipped for this task if you have:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing automation engineering, with a focus on design, development, and implementation of automation systems.
Programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, etc.
Experience with automation platforms and architectures.
Knowledge of IIoT devices, AI and ML algorithms, cloud-based data analytics platforms, machine vision, robotics, motion control systems, etc.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop creative solutions.
Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Experience with project management tools such as Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
