Senior Engineer

The Senior Engineer is responsible for overseeing the implementation of plant capital expenditure projects in accordance with established operating procedures, budgets, and schedules.

Specific accountabilities and job functions include, but are not limited to: 

• Ensure that all safety measures are adhered to at all times, including by contractors, in order to achieve zero LTIs by following SOPs, procedures, and safety practices.
• Be transparent and show care for the safety of others by reporting near misses in the workplace.
• Conduct feasibility studies on new project initiatives or engage consultants to perform feasibility studies on critical projects to ensure a high success rate of project initiatives.
• Act as Project Manager for selected projects, ensuring timely completion and delivery of promised benefits.
• Liaise with relevant statutory organizations for necessary permits and approvals for project implementation.
• Support nominated project managers in implementing their respective capital expenditure projects.
• Prepare the Capex budget for the year, in alignment with Group and APAC Investment Manager requirements, including its monthly divisions, and prepare the industrial plan Capex for the following two years. Liaise with relevant persons in charge to compile the full Capex projects for the Group.
• Prepare all required documentation for budgeting purposes (one-pager, business case, DCF, etc.).
• Prepare the Capex forecast for the rest of the year on a monthly basis and provide comments on the monthly Capex reporting.
• Create and maintain Capex projects in the SAP Genius system.
• Ensure the control of capital appropriations and bookings at the plants are in accordance with the approved budget.
• Validate the economics and technical justifications of capital investment/divestment applications at the plants.
• Assist in the selection of external resources and professional services, and negotiate appropriate contracts to ensure successful project implementation, on time and within budget.
• Ensure project-closure audits are conducted to evaluate project performance.
• Oversee the repair and maintenance of all roads, and concrete/steel building structures.
• Manage the drawing office and the draughtsman.
• Maintain and update all technical drawings and manuals on the T-drive.
• Perform any other duties as instructed by immediate superiors.
• Implement and adhere to all Internal Control Rules and the Code of Business Conduct.
• Ensure compliance with environmental practices and policies to minimize environmental contamination.
