Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Description

Support MOL (Maintenance of Line) activities for Energy’s product (Battery, Charger, Power Supply), mainly for PCN (Product Change Notice) and Regulatory Compliance update activities / qualifications.

1. Qualification of PCN (Material end of life, Tooling Change, Manufacturing changes etc) to prevent the risk of unqualified material and quality issues, and therefore avoiding disruption on continuity of supply.
2. Collaborate with PSRC (Product Safety & Regulatory Compliance), Product team, Procurement, Program management, and Quality team to ensure all Energy products are compliant to latest Regulatory /Type Approval requirements.
3. Support product regional Certification/Type Approval submission and qualification. (Exclude NPI).
4. Preparing new product concept design that meets customer requirements & expectations, design, process & safety guidelines.
5. Performing electrical tolerance analysis and DFMEA.
6. Support prototype/pilot builds.
7. Performing electrical verification test per product specifications and writing test reports.
8. Releasing electrical prints and parts qualification reports.
9. Evaluates complex components and develops the necessary test procedures and fixtures to ensure compliance with the functional specifications.
10. Participates in the testing and evaluations of complex designs to ensure compliance with the functional requirements. Detailed analysis of the results will be reviewed with a higher-level engineer or supervisor. The incumbent is expected to develop the necessary instrumentation skills and learn the standards that are relative to the designs.
11. Demonstrates multi-tasking capability with excellent results through handling multiple simultaneous programs (PCN, Regulatory update, Factory audit/support etc).

Basic Requirements

1. At least a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering or related disciplines.
2. Minimum of 5 years working experience in related field.
3. Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
4. Able to communicate & present conceptual ideas to technical audiences.
5. Familiar with battery cell charging and discharging characteristics and design requirements.
6. Any prior experience in handling product qualification for Hazardous Location Certification, such as ATEX, TIA, INMETRO, MSHA, CSA or UL, is highly preferable.
7. Familiar with design guidelines of electrical commodity.
8. Familiar with digital signal communication like I2C, etc.
9. Basic knowledge in manufacturing & assembly process & application of design for manufacturing & assembly.
10. Having manufacturing line/production working experience will be an added advantage.
11. Familiar with schematic & layout design will be an added advantage.
12. Familiar with six sigma methodology or green belt/black certified will be an added advantage.
