Senior Digital Water Solutions Engineer

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• A Master’s degree in Water Resources, Hydraulic Engineering, or a related discipline is an advantage.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in hydraulic modeling and water network analysis.
• Proven expertise in building, calibrating, and validating hydraulic models using WaterGEMS or similar software.
• Familiarity with GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS for data integration and analysis.
• Practical experience with Non-Revenue Water (NRW) management, including data-driven loss reduction strategies.
• Basic exposure to SCADA systems integration for water operations is an advantage.
• Secondary experience in sewer network design (e.g., using SewerGEMS) or urban stormwater drainage modeling (e.g., OpenFlows FLOOD) is desirable but not mandatory.

Technical Skills:

• Strong proficiency in hydraulic modeling software, with a focus on water distribution systems and network optimization.
• Solid understanding of water distribution operations, pressure management, and asset planning.
• Ability to prepare and present detailed technical reports and project documentation.

Communication Skills:

• Proficient in English and Bahasa Melayu, with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Excellent presentation skills, capable of simplifying technical concepts for diverse audiences, including clients and stakeholders.

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Effective interpersonal skills for engaging with clients and collaborating within teams.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving project requirements.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Hydraulic Modeling and Analysis:

• Develop, calibrate, and validate hydraulic models for water distribution systems using WaterGEMS or similar software.
• Conduct water network analysis to identify optimization opportunities for pressure management, flow, and Non-Revenue Water (NRW) reduction.
• Support the integration of hydraulic models with SCADA systems for real-time data analysis and monitoring.

GIS and Data Integration:

• Utilize GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) to manage and integrate spatial data for water network modeling and analysis.
• Analyze large datasets to inform decision-making processes and provide actionable recommendations to clients.

Consultancy and Pilot Projects:

• Provide consultancy services to clients for water network performance improvement and NRW management.
• Support pilot projects using OpenFlows WaterSight and other digital twin applications, focusing on enhancing water operations and system efficiency.

Training and Support:

• Conduct software training for clients, focusing on Bentley solutions such as WaterGEMS and WaterSight.
• Provide technical support to clients, including troubleshooting and guidance on software usage and system setup.

Project Documentation and Reporting:

• Prepare detailed technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Document project progress, results, and lessons learned for continuous improvement.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with sales, technical, and consultancy teams to deliver comprehensive solutions that align with client needs.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and universities to support project implementation, research, and curriculum development.

Secondary Focus:

• Assist in sewer network design or urban stormwater drainage modeling as required, using tools like SewerGEMS or OpenFlows FLOOD.
• Contribute to flood mitigation and drainage projects as part of the broader water solutions portfolio.
