Senior Data Engineer, APAC

The Opportunity:
Zurich Edge is looking for a motivated and versatile professional to join our team as Senior Data Engineer. This position focuses on two key areas: supporting activities related to database administration and data engineering to create a robust and efficient data ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Database administration:

• Responsible for managing databases and ensuring compliance to maintain a healthy ZEP database ecosystem.
• Implement and maintain security measures, activities including designing database roles, managing authority, protecting data integrity and confidentiality.
• Work closely with tech senior management, architects and development team to implement database change management standards and ensure databases development compliance with data architecture.

• Taking part in the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and analytics data models.
• Provide technical expertise in data engineering area, support ZEP data platform and ensuring data models meets business and architectural requirements.

• Offer guidance to internal colleagues in supporting data model portfolio.
• Work closely with analysts and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.

Your Skills and Experience:

• Professional experience in database administration, data governance and data modelling.
• Proficiency in relational databases and scripting languages such as SQL and Python.
• Hands-on experience with ETL, PostgreSQL, Oracle Database, and Databricks.
• A can-do attitude and hands-on mentality with a focus on delivering end-products that meet user needs and specific business use cases.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
