Your Role

As a Senior Corporate Communication and Digital Marketing Executive, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and amplifying Digital Penang’s brand and messaging. You will lead strategic communication initiatives, manage digital marketing campaigns, and organize high-impact events that engage stakeholders and elevate our presence locally and globally.

This position is a contract-based position and can be converted to a full-time position based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Brand Reputation Management: Safeguard and enhance Digital Penang’s reputation through effective public relations, corporate messaging, and crisis communication strategies.
  2. Integrated Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging across digital, print, and social media platforms.
  3. Content Management: Maintain and update content on the corporate website and other digital channels, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines.
  4. Data-Driven Insights: Develop and deploy business analytics to measure the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns.
  5. Event Management: Ideate, organize, and execute events that position Digital Penang as a thought leader and key stakeholder in the digital economy.
  6. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with corporate personalities, government officials, media, startups, and SMEs to ensure the success of events and campaigns.
  7. Strategic Campaigns: Plan and execute marketing and corporate communication campaigns using platforms like social media, AMAs, and community initiatives.
  8. Reporting: Consolidate feedback, program reports, and performance metrics to provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.
  9. Team Collaboration: Support other departments and take on additional responsibilities as required by management.

What We’re Looking For

Experience

  1. Minimum 3 years of experience in corporate communications, digital marketing, or a related field, preferably in a non-government and non-NGO environment.
  2. Preference for experience from a medium-sized private organization; experience in a large company will be an added bonus.
  3. Proven track record in managing and executing high-profile events, such as business summits or industry conferences is an advantage aside from other key track records in areas outlined in the Key Responsibility section above.
  4. Experience in leading digital marketing campaigns and leveraging analytics for decision-making, including knowledge in SEO and ranking, will be an advantage.

Education

  1. A Degree in Digital Marketing, Corporate Communications, or a related field. A Master's Degree will be an advantage.
  2. Micro-Credentials in relevant skills (e.g., digital marketing, data analytics, or AI tools) are a plus.

Soft and Technical Skills

  1. Proficiency in marketing technology tools such as Zoho CRM, Canva, Notion, AI applications, Capcut, SurveyMonkey, and others.
  2. Strong familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X) and their analytics tools.
  3. Ability to create engaging video content and organize exhibition settings.
  4. Excellent public speaking and stakeholder engagement skills.
  5. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with the ability to adapt to ambiguity and last-minute changes.
  6. Strong team player with a high level of initiative, independence, and a speedy learning curve.
  7. Photography and videography skills are an added advantage.
  8. Fluent in written and spoken English.
  9. Fluent in written and spoken Bahasa Malaysia and/or Mandarin is an advantage.

5. Portfolio Showcase (an advantage):

a. 3-5 social media posts (with captions) designed for Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn with their respective analytics and critical review.

b. A video reel developed for TikTok.

c. 2-3 photos of exhibition settings you have organized in previous roles.
