General Summary

The Senior CAD & System Integration Engineer is required to support the Engineering development needs from concept design generation to production release, including post-production support. His/her main duties will involve generation of 2D drawings, 3D manufacturing CAD digital models, 2D detailed fabrication/assembly drawings, bills of material, product costing, technical simulations of static/dynamic analysis, API for system integration and industrial/machine/process automation

Core Responsibilities

• Perform 2D AutoCAD or nanoCAD draft works from existing database of 2D sketches & 2D drawing
• Conceptualize and design 3D model for HVAC products based on mechanical & electrical engineering input, size constraint, factory tooling & facilities, cost and quality requirements.
• Perform structural design of the HVAC products using Solidworks (MCAD) software to prepare Mechanical drawings including computations of part list, sheet metal cut list for use by production & prepare BOMs (build of material) in SAP Business One – ERP system
• Prepare detailed certified and manufacturing drawings, including schematics, fabrication/flat, assembly and artwork on CAD.
• Incorporate design and drawing updates as per engineering input and engineering change order.
• Initiate and pursue improvement activities, including participation in respective improvement activities or cost-effective projects.
• Coordinate troubleshooting design problems and advise countermeasures.
• Support the technical support to design/styling of CAD data management via Solidworks API & PDM system.
• Liaise with manufacturing/production department for design/drawing/machinery related matters to ensure smooth and optimum productivity on shop floor
• Support the implementation of system integration for CAD-CAM, CAD-ERP, CAM-Machine Software, ERP-CAM, APIs for system integration, industrial/machine/process automation & digital technologies with POC (Proof of Concept)
• Any other relevant duties in line with the development of Engineering - Data Management and System Integration Department assigned by the Management.

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements

• More than 2 years of 3D design experience in sheet metal & unit structure with the incorporation of the mechanical & electrical components in a unit assembly preferably in HVAC industry.
• Proficient in the use of 2D AutoCAD or nanoCAD & 3D CAD system – Solidworks (MCAD).
• “Know-How” in macro (VBA coding) for task & design automation via Solidworks API & other API Integration & Management platforms
• Knowledge in Solidworks Electrical 3D & Solidworks PDM will be an added advantage
• Excellent problem solving and innovation qualities.
• Good communication skills and able to “WORK AS A TEAM”.
• Computer literate – Microsoft 365 with basic skills in Microsoft TEAMs, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI & SharePoint

Qualifications

• Degree in CAD/CAE/CAM/API or Engineering Technology or System Engineering or Software Engineering or Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or
• Diploma holder with CAD/CAE/CAM/API or System Integration certificates, project experience and relevant Solidworks 3D Design & API Integration/Management Experience in HVAC industry.
