Monitor the status or condition of each mechanical unit through time-based maintenance schedule (check, inspect & restoration) inspection and ensure that the units are in the best possible condition relative to HSE requirements.
Operate all the utility facilities effectively, smoothly and follow standard operating procedures at all times to ensure smooth operation with minimum downtime.
Removal of solvent and sludge from primary/secondary pond, scrubber tank, Tk407 & Tk408.
Draining of thermal oil in pipelines, reactor, expansion tank, cooler and heater in the event of maintenance works (hot works) or for major oil refurbishments.
Attend breakdown maintenance timely and correctly and ensure that the repaired items are in the best possible condition relative to HSE requirements.
Perform specific maintenance during annual plant turnaround (boiler & chimney, air receiver, thermal heater & chimney, incinerator & chimney, softener, sand filter, hot oil pump strainers, Tk407/Tk408 internal cleaning, scrubber tank, expansion tank & WWTP) as per engineering standards.
Participate with the external contractors on project works and standby on site to ensure the job is safely performed without any incidents during normal and shutdown activities for equipment related at utilities area. Involve in improvement project activities.
Participate in department’s risk assessment and HAZOP exercise on Utilities and WWTP equipment with Maintenance Manager.
Participate in annual plant turnaround or any shutdown activities meeting to discuss schedule with Maintenance Manager.
Record all operating parameters for the utility units, waste water treatment plant and energy (gas, water & nitrogen) in soft copies (Excel format in computer) for evaluation purposes.
Conduct jar test on the raw feed water to enable effective chemical dosing before feeding into the biological system.
Calibration of feed water flow & chemical dosage by using stopwatch and jar to enable effective flow and chemical dosing.
Coordinate with external service providers (Lab) on providing monthly WWTP/sewage samples for analysis.
Coordinate with external service providers on schedule for monthly stack monitoring analysis.
Operate the monsoon drain valve effectively after morning shift hours in the event of emergency.
Compile and store all the internal log sheets & external stack monitoring reports safely in the boiler room for reference purposes as per JKPP requirement.
Participate as HSE Committee member to discuss issues pertaining to HSE in the utilities department.
To play role as ERT on-screen commander.
Loss control responsibilities: Take reasonable care for health and safety of himself and of other persons, cooperate with superior, wear or use personal protective equipment provided as appropriate and comply with health and safety instruction as stipulated under Section 24 OSHA 1994 and undertake the following loss control responsibilities:
Identify the potential hazards, gains and the possible improvement.
Report the HSEQ near-misses, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to superior.
Report the HSEQ incident, accidents to superior.
Compliant with the policies, legal regulations, Arkema requirements, rules and procedures of one's sector applying to HSEQ.
Required Profile
• 1st grade engine driver (boiler man) certificate from DOSH with at least 3 years working experience in a chemical unit operation. • Ability to work independently. • Ability to operate boiler, compressor, chiller, thermal heaters, incinerator, cooling towers, nitrogen system and waste water treatment plant. • Knowledge of boiler maintenance.
