Summary

• BASF started the transformation from one global corporate reporting system (SAP BW 7.5) to several systems based on SAP BW/4 HANA and SAP Datasphere. In our Product Team – Business Intelligence (BI) Core Platform – you together with the team are in an active role to develop and operate the reporting platforms of BASF group based on these technologies. We are open to the use of AI when it becomes available and support to make it happen in our area of responsibility.
• In this role, you will do Technical Management, Quality Assurance (QA) and development of the framework in a highly integrated and complex SAP and non-SAP environment. In this transformation, you will be an integral part, designing the framework, bringing it to life during the project and establishing stable operations.

Responsibilities

• In BASF's path forward for Business Intelligence, you, together with the team, will be active in several areas of BI Core Platforms.
• You will be part of a major project of BASF's technological transformation in the BI area. Together with the experts from the BI process teams and the QA team, you will bring the greenfield approach for BASF core chemicals reporting platform (SAP BW/4HANA) to life. Your software development skills will create value in projects; therefore, strong consultancy and programming skills are required. You will also manage developments in cooperation with internal colleagues or external service providers.
• Besides project work, you and the team are responsible for operations of the existing and new landscape. Within Technical Management, you will measure the pulse of the systems, collaborate with the SAP Basis team, and conduct QA (architecture, design, code, and security). With your deep experience, you will keep the systems running smoothly. You will regularly run maintenance tasks, conduct continuous service improvement, housekeeping, and execute/support test activities.
• You will also contribute to central topics like master data management and authorization. As an experienced teammate, you will create and maintain rules and guidelines relevant for the DevOps community.
• BASF is also currently introducing SAP Datasphere, and you will have the chance to learn with the team how to run it most efficiently.

Requirements

Education

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in business informatics or business administration with a focus on IT or computer science with a focus on business administration. Alternatively, a comparable completed vocational training with several years of IT experience in various functions.

Working Experience

• At least 10 years of professional experience in Business Intelligence, preferably in SAP Business Warehouse.

Technical & Professional Knowledge (Mandatory)

• Experience and passion for SAP BW/4HANA backend.
• In-depth knowledge of HANA native development.
• Extensive experience in ABAP / ABAP OO in a BW environment.
• Very good practical knowledge of SAP AMDP and native SQL as well as SAP HANA databases.
• Your contribution to Quality Assurance (architecture, design, coding, security) helps projects and developers meet BASF's requirements for security and quality and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Within Technical Management skills, you can easily collaborate with the SAP Basis team and application teams.
• Your analytical skills have always been appreciated in your professional life.
• You can communicate clearly and authentically in English (spoken and written).
• You enjoy working in an international team.

Technical & Professional Knowledge (Additional plus/nice to have Skills)

• Experience with SAP Datasphere is an advantage.
• Experience working agile with a DevOps mindset.
• Knowledge of frontend-tools for SAP BW like SAP Analytics Cloud or Analysis for Office.
• Usage of AI in the SAP environment.
