Global Digital Services is supporting BASF business in Digitalization transformation. Our mission is to drive forward the digital transformation of BASF, providing innovative, global, and high-quality digital products and services through a strong agile culture. The Digital Hub Kuala Lumpur is one of our global key locations to deliver regional and global solutions for BASF.
• In our SCOTT Solutions unit, you will support our customers on complex IT application topics in the area of sustainability and directly contribute to BASF's strategic path towards net zero.
• From the beginning, you will be responsible for solving practical challenges that our internal partners face using state-of-the-art technology and methods.
• The team has a portfolio of solutions in productive use as well as in development. The technology setup is a BASF private Azure with Kubernetes hosting containerized web applications written in Python and JavaScript.

Your main responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

• You will develop according to modern coding, security, and tool standards.
• You will not only consider the development of new applications but also operations and maintenance as a valuable part of your daily work.
• You will always have an eye on technical innovations and evaluate them in terms of their usefulness for the team.
• You will work in a self-organized way within a small team and collaborate across different solutions.
• You will lead tasks or subprojects and align with stakeholders on scope, feasibility, and timeline.

Requirements

Education

• University graduate, majoring in Information Technology or Digitalization.

Working Experience

• More than 5 years of professional experience in an IT environment.

Technical & Professional Knowledge (Mandatory)

• Proven experience as a Senior Backend Developer.
• Strong expertise in Python (FastAPI, Pandas, Celery).
• Database skills, particularly Postgres and HANA.
• Knowledge of CI/CD DevOps framework and version control systems (for example, GIT).
• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Team player with a high willingness to learn, a positive attitude, as well as experience working in global and diverse teams.
