Job Description & Summary

A career within Deals Services based in our Penang office will provide you with the opportunity to help organizations deliver innovative deal solutions to our clients, provide advice and support, from initiation through to deal completion. In short, we help some of the world’s leading companies originate, create, execute, and realize value from deals. Through data-driven insights, we help our clients move in the right direction, ensuring maximum value for their company.

You will be given the opportunity to deliver work across several competency groups, covering due diligence work, valuations, and business restructuring services.

As a Senior Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution.

Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Proactively assist in the management of several clients while reporting to Managers and above.
  • Managing and training juniors within the team.
  • Quickly developing an understanding of the target business and its drivers.
  • Interpreting and analyzing information memoranda, business plans, and publicly available information on the target business.
  • Reviewing and analyzing historical trading, cash flow, and balance sheets.
  • Reviewing and analyzing projections and underlying assumptions.
  • Reviewing the adequacy of working capital facilities, including consideration of financing limits, terms, and covenants.
  • Reporting potential key issues for our client, including identification of risk or price affecting considerations.
  • Reviewing sale and purchase agreements and other legal documentation, correlating findings of the due diligence process therein.
  • Reviewing financial structures and associated credit agreements.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or any other relevant disciplines and/or a professional accounting qualification.
  • At least 2 years of relevant advisory services or external audit experience post-qualification.
  • Working knowledge of IFRS, Malaysian Companies’ Act 1965, and Code of Mergers and Takeovers.
  • Excellent written communications, able to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles.
  • Excellent presentation skills, effective in a variety of formal presentation settings.
  • Candidates with external audit experience or experience in the legal field are welcome to apply.
