Senior Associate, Business Partner

Job Summary:

To provide support to the Head, Business Partner and the SVP, Business Partner in creating a conducive and prudent business operations environment within the Securities division. He/she will assist in managing processes and controls to ensure compliance with applicable laws, operational standards, and regulatory requirements, thereby contributing to the achievement of business goals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Enhancement of Internal Control Mechanisms
    • Advise on and propose enhancements to internal control mechanisms for effective compliance and risk management in securities business operations.
    • Assist in managing risks associated with new developments in business activities, products, and processes arising from regulatory updates or internal changes.
  • Issue Resolution and Management
    • Assist Business Units/Support Units to resolve issues and findings raised by regulators and auditors pertaining to securities business and operations.
    • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address compliance gaps and implement corrective actions.
  • Stakeholder Management and Project Facilitation
    • Strengthen internal and external stakeholders' management in response to changes in the regulatory environment and rules.
    • Support project management and digitalization efforts within the Securities division to ensure smooth business operations.
  • Advisory Support for Product and Process
    • Provide value-added advisory on products, business innovation, new business markets/channels, and operational processes.
    • Offer insights and recommendations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in business operations.
  • Advocacy for Compliance and Regulatory Policies
    • Advocate for facilitative compliance and regulatory-related policies, such as anti-money laundering, Chinese Walls, Personal Data Protection Act, and Competition Act.
    • Generate ideas and provide feedback to business lines for industry-level consultations to promote compliance culture.
  • Regulatory Compliance Assurance
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and AHIB's policies and procedures.
    • Establish and maintain robust business operating controls to mitigate compliance risks effectively.
  • Others: Undertake any other projects/tasks & administrative roles as assigned by Head, Business Partner, Securities as and when required.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in securities operations, regulatory compliance, or risk management roles within the financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of securities regulations, operational standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify issues, assess risks, and develop practical solutions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across various stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and familiarity with relevant compliance and risk management tools/software.
