Job description

Senior Associate, Advocacy will be responsible for advancing MRANTI's initiatives in the 4IR Food Security & Sustainability area by working closely with stakeholders (Government, Industry, NGOs, Academia, Technology Partners) in advocating for programmes & projects that promote innovative, technology-driven solutions for Food Security.

Job Responsibilities

Advocacy and Stakeholder Engagement:

  1. Develop and implement advocacy strategies to promote 4IR technologies in food security and sustainability initiatives.
  2. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, policymakers, industry partners, NGOs, and academic institutions.
  3. Represent the organisation at industry events, conferences, and policy forums to advocate for sustainable and technology-driven agricultural practices.

Special Project:

  1. Support the administration, research, technology validation, and marketing for 4IR Food Security & Sustainability.
  2. Support the development of strategic planning and partnerships for relevant projects.

Project/Program Support and Implementation:

  1. Support and lead the planning, organizing, coordinating, and leading of research projects and teams.
  2. Assist in the planning, execution, and evaluation of projects & programmes.
  3. Lead communication efforts to raise awareness of key advocacy initiatives through social media.
  4. Support the preparation of presentation and speaking notes for representatives in advocacy activities.
  5. Track and report on the impact of advocacy efforts and make recommendations for continuous improvement.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Management, International Relations, Agriculture, or other related fields.
  2. Minimum of 3 – 5 years of working experience in the areas of advocacy, public policy, or a related role with a focus on food security, sustainability, or technology adoption.
  3. People-oriented, culture-adaptive, quick learner, and thrives on the excitement of a goal-oriented team.
  4. Proven experience in engaging with government agencies, industry stakeholders, and academia.
  5. Works well under pressure in a challenging and dynamic environment.
