Senior Application Engineer (Networking/Cybersecurity)

Provides engineering support to customers, help to identify technical problems, determine the solution and assist customers in implementing the fix. Provides technical feedback to engineering concerning product changes/enhancements. Could use 3rd party products and be called on-site to assist in complex technical solutions requiring changes to core functionality, code, and systems operation. Creates tests, tools, and diagnostic procedures for users. Leverages post sales interactions with customers to probe and qualify further revenue opportunities. May book transactional sales opportunities and provides highly qualified leads to sales.

Already have the ability or could learn quickly on the following tools:

• Familiar with Linux operating system (CentOS/Ubuntu) and basic network knowledge, master Linux commands, TCP/IP principles and common application protocols. Experience with .NET architecture software.
• Master one of the programming or scripting languages of C/Python/Shell/HTML/JSON, and have certain development and code analysis skills.
• Proficient in network security analysis tools: such as Wireshark, tcpdump, Splunk, etc.
• Familiar with the principles and protection methods of DDoS attacks, such as network layer, application layer, and reflection amplification attacks.
• Familiar with the principles of cyber attacks and how to escape, such as SQL injection and cross-site scripting.
• Familiar with malware, such as trojans, zombies, ransomware.
• Familiarity with how network security appliances work, such as firewalls, WAFs, IPS, etc.
• Familiar with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and have relevant experience.
• Familiar with virtualization technology, have a deep understanding of KVM, VMware and OpenStack virtualization technology, and have certain experience in the network (such as AWS/Azure/Alibaba Cloud) and service configuration of mainstream cloud environments.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Network Engineering, Information Security, or equivalent.
• More than 5 years relevant experience for entry to this level.
• Requires extensive experience and knowledge in the job and ability to work independently.
• Experience with firewall/security testing is preferred.
• CCIE security certification or equivalent is preferred.
