Key Responsibilities
- Monthly/Quarterly closing activities - prepare, process and review month-end journal entries; prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations; gather data and generate reports in support of trend analysis if required.
- Independently responsible for month-end / annual closing and report submission, account reconciliation, submit internal and external reporting packages.
- Perform detailed analysis of account balances to ensure accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP as part of the overall accounting close process.
- Review, evaluate and calculate customers' credit risk on an annual basis to ensure compliance as per policy.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of customer refunds, credit notes and commission verification.
- Maintain strong compliance of relevant credit controls policies.
- Identify accounting system deficiencies and recommend process improvements.
- Develop, maintain and update desk procedures documentation as processes change for efficiency.
- Provide policy guidance and process support to business unit and regional finance teams.
- Participate in the maintenance of Sarbanes Oxley cycle narratives within the area of responsibility.
- Take ownership of the preparation and coordination of the annual internal/external audit process.
- Prepare detailed fluctuation analysis for quarterly and annual audits.
- Liaison with government authorities and external service providers in accomplishing reporting requirements.
Required Education/Skills:
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
- Solid knowledge of financial concepts and principles.
- Expertise in own functional areas and general knowledge of other areas impacted within the business.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Ability to build productive internal/external working relationships.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with 5 years of previous related experience is required.
- Public accounting experience is preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
- Experience working in a large MNC company is preferred.
- Proven expertise in MS Office Suite, including advanced Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid problem-solving, critical thinking, and investigative skills.
- Experience using JDE, Blackline and/or OneStream is a plus.
