Senior Agronomist

Qualifications & Requirements

• Possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree / Master in Agricultural / Agronomy / Plant Science or equivalent
• At least 8 – 10 years of experience in agronomy, crop management, or a similar capacity in a related field
• Strong knowledge of crop management, soil science, plant nutrition and pest management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in various field conditions and travel to different estates locations as required

Job Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the agronomy unit of SOPB, coordinating activities across various estates
• Provide oil palm agronomy advisory and fertilizer recommendations for SOPB’s group of estates, covering an area of 45,000 hectares
• Provide agronomy support for oil palm nurseries
• Supervise and guide the operations of junior agronomists
• Deliver agronomy and nutrient-related training to estates personnel
• Provide support and training on resolving issues related to pests and diseases in oil palm
• Manage agronomy staff in collecting field data, and foliar and soil samples
