Senior Accountant

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage general accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, budgets and cash flow forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and other statutory requirements.
• Handle tax matters including SST, income tax and other regulatory filings with the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN).
• Liaise with auditors, tax consultants and other relevant regulatory bodies.
• Monitor and improve accounting systems and processes for greater efficiency.
• Conduct estate visits for financial reviews, inventory verification and operational audits.
• Support the management team with strategic financial planning and analysis.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA) is a must.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the oil palm sector.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as SAP is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willing and able to travel to estates regularly.
