Responsibilities

  1. Develop and improve monthly maintenance program.
  2. Ensure all maintenance and unit overhaul activities are well planned and implemented.
  3. Prepare Turbine Maintenance monthly report to Performance Department (as requested).
  4. Identify and implement plant improvement project.
  5. Manage and appraise subordinate performance as per the company’s appraisal guideline.
  6. Prepare annual budget proposal based on the maintenance activities planning.
  7. Monitor and optimize the budget expenses in line with the approved annual budget.
  8. Review all procedures and its implementation.
  9. Comply with all safety, health, environmental, and Quality Management System requirements, policies, and procedures relevant to the position.
  10. Ensure all safety procedures are followed, proper tools are used, Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) are used and methods of handling of works are adhered.
  11. Plan and allocate resources effectively to accomplish the work and meet the department’s objectives and performance targets.
  12. Manage the preparation and maintenance of reports necessary to carry out the functions of the department. Prepares periodic reports for the management as necessary or requested, to track strategic goal accomplishment.
  13. Comply with all applicable SHEQ legal requirements and our stakeholders’ specifications by establishing policies, programmes and practices in order to conduct operations in a healthy, safe and environmentally sound manner with safety first, quality foremost & pursuing excellence.
  14. To conform to statutory legal regulatory and legislation requirements such as OSHA, FMA, Employment Act, Electricity Supply Act 1994, ISO 9001/14001/OSHAS 18001 etc.
  15. To perform other additional tasks that are relevant and necessary to accomplish the company overall objectives, which may be assigned from time to time.

Qualification and Competency (License)

  1. Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from a recognized higher learning institution.
  2. Minimum Mandatory Competency (License) required: Authorised Entrant & Standby Person for Confined Space (AESP).
  3. Minimum Optional requirement by DOSH or added advantage.

Work Experience

  1. Minimum years of working experience related to the work scope: 8 years’ working experience with at least 3 years in managerial skill.
  2. Familiarity with plant system and equipment, experience on coordination of activities of the plant maintenance department, allocates responsibilities and provides technical advice to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the power station.
  3. Knowledge in coal fired power plant operations and maintenance will be an added advantage.

  3. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a department and department staff members.

Company Overview

Edra Power Holdings Sdn Bhd (“Edra”) owns and operates 8 power plants in Malaysia, Egypt and Bangladesh. It also has investments in a power asset in Pakistan, as well as a power and desalination asset in the United Arab Emirates. Edra is the second largest independent power producer (IPP) in Malaysia, with a total generating capacity of 5,087 MW and effective capacity of 4,568.3 MW from its 5 power plants, which consist of 3 combined cycle gas turbine plants (one with co-generation facilities), one coal-fired sub-critical thermal power plant and one large scale solar photovoltaic plant. In Egypt, the Group owns and operates one 682.5 MW gas-fired conventional thermal power. In Bangladesh, the Group owns and operates two CCGT power plants, with a total generating capacity of 810 MW and effective capacity of 445.5 MW. The Group has an investment in a 157 MW combined cycle gas-fired baseload power station located in Pakistan. Its effective capacity is 36 MW. Edra is also part of a consortium that owns and operates the Taweelah B IWPP, the largest independent water and power project in the UAE. The Group has a 10.0% effective interest in the Taweelah B IWPP, which has a total power generation and desalination capacity of 2,000 MW and 160 MIGD. The Group’s revenues are mainly derived from the available capacity and electrical energy produced by its power plants to the off-taker under their respective Power Purchase Agreements ("PPAs"). Tenaga Nasional Berhad is our sole off-taker in Malaysia, while Egyptian Electricity Holding Company and Bangladesh Power Development Board are our sole off-takers in Egypt and Bangladesh respectively. These off-takers are either government or government-linked entities. Our PPAs in Egypt and Bangladesh are guaranteed by the Central Bank of Egypt and Government of Bangladesh respectively, with the substantial majority of payments either denominated in, or indexed to, the USD. Edra is led by experienced management teams with deep industry knowledge, expertise and established track records, which are further supported by strategic partnerships with reputable global players.
